How Reverse Osmosis Works
- Stage 1: 1 Micron Sediment Pre-Filter for mechanical filtration. 1 Micron polypropylene cartridge protects and extends the life of the membrane by removing sediment particles such as Grit, Dust, Rust, Mud, Algae, etc.
- Stage 2: 1 Micron High Grade Carbon Pre-Filter A special high-grade carbon cartridge pre-filter removes chlorine from the water source in order to protect the Thin Film Composite filter from chlorine degradation.
- Stage 3: Thin Film Composite (TFC) Membrane A Thin Film Composite (TFC) membrane screens out most micro particles down to 0.0005 of 1 micron. For comparison, the smallest thing the human eye can see is 50 microns in size and a human hair is 100 microns. The membrane effectively filters: Heavy Metal complexes including Aluminium, Lead, Mercury. Micro organisms including Cryptosporidium & Giardia (and their eggs), E. coli, Salmonella, Cholera and Shigella. Mineral Ions including Flouride and Sodium. The Reverse Osmosis membrane has a remarkable affinity for Oxygen which produces sparkling clean and freshly oxygenated water.
- Stage 4: TRF Inline Toxic Gas Removal This filter is specially designed to remove residual gasses, residual chemicals and other organic pollutants. Containing a special carbon component, this filter has excellent adsorbent properties.
